I’ll Be There For You

I’ll be there for you😘

I was definitely in two minds when I took to writing about the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. reunion today. I watched the whole movie in two parts as the wary and confused toddler wouldn’t let me sit still and catch on with all the excitement and nostalgia that came with it. I have watched all the seasons 14 times, 236 episodes all of them, each one 14 times and I still feel so connected with everything attached to it. This piece of bit should have come earlier when I first watched the show in 2014, nonetheless, there is a right time for everything in life.

Coming to the beginning, wasn’t it heart-warming and epic to see those hugs ?
Phoebe hugging Ross, and then the funny moment when Joey and Chandler sat with a bang on their comfy leatherette armchairs, Joey wiping off Monica’s tears and all the reminiscing that went around when each of them narrated about their favourite episode. Totally touching and emotional. It was equally ecstatic to see everyone in such high spirits.

I could not help but remember the old school college days and Bangalore days with my best friends. The whole film has the capacity to bawl your eyes out. It is full of the ups and downs these guys have shared so vehemently. I got chills down my spine as each actor entered the set premises. The ensemble cast also has an interesting story about their auditions, which I am sure all of us must have read about. What strikes me out of the box is the one of Phoebe. 🙂
It turned the tables for her.

Ultimately I got my answer as to why the producers decided on not making more episodes. The efforts they have put in freaked me out. It’s hell lot of work putting your life and soul bringing out such nitty-gritties on television that will touch a billion hearts.

There were certain moments that caught my attention, when Ross said, “we respected each other’s boundaries”, while Joey sipped his coffee and said, “Bullshit.” The appearance of Joey in Chandler’s clothes, Ross and Rachel crushing on each other as well as seeing those BTS moments, Justin Bieber in his “potato” costume 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, the moment where Mr. Heckles and Richard entered and of course PIVOT😍😍😍.

It’s true when they say sometimes we cannot bear the things we crave for. This reunion was worth the wait. It’s literally sweet terror. Being the kind of person I am I get overwhelmed and excited easily at such moments and this show is simply marvelous.

Isn’t it the best thing that has happened in 2021, until now ?

It will possibly be one of the highlights of the year and we will remember these happy moments. Did anyone notice when the interviewer read the stats ?
100billion times that the show was played in total on all platforms. That’s more than ten times the world population!
A whopping number. It shows the intensity at which people connect to the show. Binge watching such shows can never go out of vogue I gather, it just rejuvenates your mind and calms you down. It makes us believe that imperfections are normal and as humans it is most crucial to be happy at the end of it all.

This was one show that has and will continue to keep the generations to come entertained, engaged, invested and leave each individual with varying degrees of emotions. I can’t wait to see more of it, sadly all good things come to an end.
